Before the world wakes, I have a couple of hours each day to dedicate to working on what I want. Honestly, I’d never get to them if I tried to do them at night.

An advantage is that after having worked on things for two hours a day, I still have a few hours before I need to leave for work (I work from 1000 to 1800). This allows me (well, starting next week) to walk and get some basic exercise for a half hour each day. Someday, this may turn into a real exercise regimen, which is something I’m going to need to push the weight-loss plan into gear (diet isn’t quite enough).

So far, I’ve started going to bed early (2200), I’ve cut out some TV (at this point, mostly American Idol), and I actually end up more energized during the day because I’ve actually accomplished something before breakfast.

Never thought I was this much of a morning person, but it looks like I am.

The projects are moving forward, as well. For Tweetomancy, I’m reading up on Objective-C programming and the various Cocoa frameworks and spending my time mocking up my new app’s look and feel so I know what I’m trying to build. For ARPS, I’ve pulled all my text out of InDesign into Word docs so I can focus on the copy and not get bogged down in Layout Hell. There’s a lot of textual changes that need to be made and this is, by far, the Better Way. I’m eventually going to try dumping all the text and various notes and note cards into Scrivener, which I think will help. Will be testing that in the next few days.

And we’ve started planning meals and are making an attempt to eat Food Made of Food. That’s been working out pretty well, too.

If you’ve made it this far, I thank you for dealing with my ramblings.

Why We Love the Internet

Why is the Internet awesome? Simple. Having a Twitter conversation with two people halfway around the world regarding their impressions of the United States and religious tolerance. Anyone who thinks we’re not living in a global world today is delusional (IMHO).

Oh, and welcome to the new blog. This is where I get to ramble about stuff using more than 140 characters.
